Secretary: László Czirják
László Czirják is the head of the Department of Immunology and Rheumatology in the University of Pécs (Pécs, South-Western Hungary). In 2005, as a counsellor of the EUSTAR, he organized the first EULAR/EUSTAR educational course on scleroderma in Budapest. In 2007, he was elected to the general secretary of the EULAR. From June 2010 he is the secretary of EUSTAR. He is a member of the Editorial Board of Annals of Rheumatic Diseases, Clinical Experimental Rheumatology, and Scleroderma Care and Research. He is involved in teaching of medical students (in Hungarian and English), and also a regular speaker in postgraduate courses in rheumatology, clinical immunology, and internal medicine. He is the co-chairman of the Immunology Commettee of the Hungarian Academy of Science. With regard to the research field, he is predominantly interested in the investigation of the clinical and immunological aspects of systemic sclerosis. His research group performs studies on survival, disease activity, organ based outcome and other clinical-epidemiological aspects of patients with systemic sclerosis. He is both participant and organizer of several international multicenter clinical studies.
